Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Tips to remember!

We've all been there at one point! Be it fighting a monster that we have NEVER fought or ascending from low rank to high rank quests and realizing the monster we could once take down with ease has a new move set and is even more aggressive and intelligent! Whatever the case may be here are some helpful tips that you should remember for your journey through Monster Hunter if you are having a particularly difficult time!

Pay attention to the location the quest takes place in at all times! This has happened to me in the past until I finally made it a habit to actually pay attention to the location of the quest! There's nothing more annoying to you or your fellow group members than to have a burning up hunter that loses health by the second or has to run back to the base and get cool or hot drinks! It might not seem like much but if you forget cool drinks when you need them the most...well...let's just say you're in for a bad time!

Take potions! Not just the ones from the grocery lady! Make mega potions as you can take ten of these as well as ten normal potions! Another thing is you can take ten potions and ten honey as well as the mega potions and create more megas while you are out on the field! Pretty helpful if you are just barely getting used to a certain monster or you just aren't confident in what you can handle! Or you just suck at dodging or blocking! No shame! Also take max potions and ancient potions! Those are extremely helpful if you happen to get carted as they boost your health and stamina up to the maximum! This will be crucial in g rank where you CAN get one hit killed by a monster in rage mode and it's even more a possibility if you are low on health! Other healing items you and your group will love include life powders, dust of life(wyceum in dundorma),and portable steam bomb! But it's not just about healing items no! Demondrug, armorskin, and the mega versions of these will be a good bonus to your offense and defense!

Traps! These will make your life easier when fighting more agile or just annoying monsters! Also once a monster begins to limp you can set a trap and then use tranquilizer bombs to capture the beast! Capturing a monster will yield more rewards for you and your group so it's always best to capture when possible! Or if you are in a particularly bad mood...you can wait until the monster is exhausted, which will be shown by them drooling, and keep them down for a good period of time so that you can beat the fertilized dung out of them! Regardless be sure to let your group members know that you are about to set a trap! If you don't you may all wind up using traps and that's just a waste of resources! NOTE: Elder Dragons CANNOT be trapped or captured! Figured this out with a friend of mine the hard way...

Wooo yeah! Explosions baby! Explosions of light, tranquilizer, paint, and even poop! Regardless of what you may use these bombs for just know that they will help you! Flash bombs will temporarily blind a monster leaving it vulnerable but not helpless as they can still attack! Dung bombs are good if you are going into an area with two or more monsters or just in case a Seregios shows up! Just toss one at one of the monsters and it will usually fly off! For your monster stalking needs you can use paint balls and for capturing a monster the tranquilizers are beautiful! Batman would be proud! :'D

Do not be greedy! What does that mean? Basically that if you are attacking a monster don't try to just SPAM your attacks! This isn't Street Fighter your ass will get smacked for pulling those stunts! Depending on the weapon don't slash or bash continuously! Try to get in a few good hits and then back out! Remember you have fifty minutes so don't rush it! Rathalos are known for charging or firing a fireball and flying off after getting back up from being knocked down! This might not hit you but the wind or explosion will temporarily make you flinch and that is all it takes! It's not much of a problem early on in low rank and even high rank but once you get to g rank...well...it hurts to be greedy!

Alright I've said this before and I'll say it again...use your common sense! If your health is low and you need to heal it's usually NOT a good idea to heal in the same area as that monster that is trying to murder you! Just run your butt off to another area, heal, and get back into the fray! The ai for these monsters is pretty good and to test out my theory I would purposely stand on a trap and use a potion while in a group. Sure enough the monster would target me and attack! Thankfully the trap would ensnare them but if not for that I would be destroyed! This doesn't just apply to healing! Sharpening would be an awesome thing to go do in another area ESPECIALLY if you don't have speed sharpener! Most deaths can be avoided with just a tad bit of common sense! Also getting lucky with hitboxes will do that trick! :D

Monster weaknesses! Knowing your preys weakness means an easier life when it comes to breaking parts and basically murdering the creature! This chart shows the weaknesses and ailments that each monster has to certain elements! Pretty handy when you are curious! I don't know the original creator of this but if any of you do please email or comment below so I can give the proper credit! :)

Skills! These are one of the key components that will make your life just as easy! How do you get these skills though? Why from armor and decorations of course! As well as talismans! When a skill reaches a certain number 5,10,15,and so on you receive that skill! Some skills like Speed Sharpening will allow you to sharpen weapons faster and get you back on your feet which is a blessing in the middle of a fight! Focus helps with charging up certain weapons charge bar or charge attacks and the rest is for you to do your research on(link on the bottom)! The reason I mentioned this is because I have seen new players have a mixed set of armor and sometimes they are missing out on key skills that would make ranking up or even surviving easier! So please look at what skills would work with you and if you do intend to mix a set make sure you can mix parts that work with one another to get you the best skills possible! All is up to you but skills are in your best interest! :)

I think that about wraps it up! Hope these tips help you all out and in case you are wondering where to find the recipes for the mentioned items feel free to check out kiranico!
